Saga Dawa Duchen greeting
On this most auspicious day, the anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment and paranirvana, we want to thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to support our efforts at Iron Knot Ranch so that the wheel of the Buddha-Dharma may continue to turn through activity, practice, teaching and study. May all beings benefit through this accumulation of merit and wisdom.

Mariana Roumell-Gasteyer
Last week I participated in a wood/salt fired kiln building workshop. We took an old broken electric kiln and converted it to a propane/woodfire kiln. We build the kiln in one day, galzed and loaded it the next, fired on the third day and unloaded on day four. Here are some pictures.
Mariana is a great potter see her work at Blue Dome Gallery. Pictures are from Suzi Calhoun at Art and Conversation.

The Artist’s Development Toolkit
I found this on the net. Have a look at The Artist’s Development Toolkit.
From the site:
“The artist’s development toolkit is self-reflective material for artists at all career stages and for art and design students, enabling them to review their position and explore ways of developing themselves and their practice.
Researched and written by arts and education consultant Linda Ball, this toolkit is a collaboration between a-n The Artists Information Company and APD (Artists Professional Development) network, supported by Arts Council England and Centre for Learning and Teaching, University of Brighton through the Excellence in Teaching Award scheme.”
The first module takes over an hour — I’m going to do it tonight and will let you know.
