Pr0n - the process
Here is a detail of how these images are created. First I use GIMP to highlight edges and posterize the image. I take out recognizable features and adjust for levels, color etc. Sometimes backgrounds are changed as well. So the original is pretty much lost. I then save as a ping. I ususally save the images 1200 pixels at the largest. I then start Metapixel and upsize it 4 or 5 times depending on the look I want. Of course there are many other adjustments to Metapixel to get the image. Here is a detail of the image I am going to use in the ad.
The image is then printed — in this case on 22 x 30″ Magnani Pescia paper on an HP Designjet printer. I then use Golden Acrylics to paint over the image, using transparent paints I manipulate the image until I get it where I want it.
An image/thought a day
Just trying out this new WordPress Dasboard widget. I can now blog from the dashboard on my mac when the thought strikes me.
