Book of Love

30 pages from the Book of Love, Valentine’s Day 2004, an installlation piece. 30 spattered ink works on paper, covered in encaustic. I did these by laying them on the floor and “randomly” spattering sumi ink on them. I then drew a fram around them and got to work with my pencil and pastel. I was reading I’bn al Amin - a sufi mystic(actually I was reading Henry Corbin on I’bn Al Amin), Plotinus, and Je’Tsongkapa in the dead of winter with Valenine’s Day approaching.
